Allstate Notary Preparation offers live seminars in the San Diego area on the following dates: A proctored state exam is offered following each seminar and is open to all Allstate Notary Preparation registered users. (This is the official state exam.)
SEMINAR WALK-INS WELCOME on a space-available basis.

If you have registered for our online notary course or our self-study course and will be attending one of our proctored state exams, please be sure you are at the seminar/exam site by 4:00 pm to check in for the exam.

Seminar starts PROMPTLY at 8:45am. Please DO NOT BE LATE as late arrivals cannot be issued a proof of completion certificate.



NOTARY EXAM MATERIALS
  1. A completed current Notary Public Application form and fail letter if you are re-taking the exam.
  2. Valid Photo identification (current or issued within the last 5 years)
    • A Driver’s license or state DMV ID card
    • A Canadian or Mexican driver’s license
    • US Passport or passport issued by a foreign government
    • US Military ID card
  3. 2 x 2 color passport photograph
  4. Check, money order or cashiers check for the appropriate fee (see below) made payable to the Secretary of State, with the candidates name and last four digits of the Social Security number written on it.
  5. Two sharpened #2 lead pencils.
  6. For online course and self-study course users: Notary course Certificate of Completion. Those attending the seminar will be issued a Certificate of Completion at the end of the seminar.
  7. PLEASE NOTE:You may take the state exam even if you do not have a certificate of completion for the required 6-hour educational course. If you take the state exam without presenting a certificate of completion, the state will simply return your application with a letter advising that you must submit the certificate of completion in order for your application to be processed.


NOTARY EXAM FEES
  • $40 for new applicants and reappointments
  • $20 for applicants who have previously taken the exam and failed
Note: Each candidate must have a separate check or money order. Fees payable to the Secretary of State are non-refundable.

Notary course fees paid to Allstate Notary Preparation do not include state exam fees payable to the Secretary of State or livescan fingerprinting fees payable to the livescan vendor.
